Company In Brief

PT Budi Acid Jaya Tbk ( the Company ) is one of the company under Sungai Budi Group ( SBG ). SBG was established in Lampung in 1947, just in few years after the Indonesian’s independency. Nowadays SBG grew into one of the largest business group within the agribusiness sector in Indonesia.

The first business of SBG was trading for coffee, black pepper, cassava chips and other agriculture commodities. Under the leadership of Mr. Widarto, as Chairman and Mr. Santoso Winata, as Deputy Chairman, SBG has been rapidly grown and performing its diversification outside Lampung’s area especially in Java island as well as in other big cities in Indonesia. Nowadays, SBG is the main producer of tapioca starch as well as rice flour, and one of the main player in the palm oil industry and its derivative products as well as series of products used as raw materials for food, paper, confectionery, chemicals and other industries.

The Company was established in 1979. In its early years, the Company had 1 (one) citric acid factory only. In line with the growth of SBG and in accordance with SBG’s plan to conduct Initial Public Off ering over the Company’s shares, then in order to increase its value added, the Company was reorganized into a producer of cassava-based products with its main products in forms of tapioca starch and citric acid.

After passing through an extensive planning, in 1995 the Company conducted Initial Public Offering over its shares. And as of the time, all SBG’s business expansion related with cassava always managed by the Company. As a result, nowadays the Company and its subsidiaries owned the following production facilities:

PT. Nippon Indosari Corpindo, Tbk was  incorporated in 1995 and opened its first production plant in 1996 at Jababeka Industrial Estate, Cikarang, West Java as a bread manufacturer with  Sari Roti™ as its primary brand.   To meet  growing consumer demand, PT. Nippon Indosari Corpindo, Tbk then expanded the business by constructing its second production plant in Pasuruan  in 2005.  The rapid  rise in production quantity at its production plant in Jababeka Industrial Estate prompted PT. Nippon Indosari Corpindo, Tbk to expand and built another production facility which is also located at Jababeka Industrial Estate, Cikarang, West Java.   In 2011,  new production plants in Semarang and Medan were built.   PT. Nippon Indosari Corpindo, Tbk became a publicly listed company on the Indonesian Stock Exchange in June 2010.

The company produces, under the Sari Roti brand, a variety of breads including White Bread, Sweet Bread with various fillings, Sweet Bread with Cream Filling, Bread Roll, Burger Bun & Plain Roll, and Chiffon Cake.   These variants are produced at Sari Roti’s production plants using the best and most modern technology by emphasizing  the 3H principles,  namely, Halal, Hygienic, and Healthy.  Our commitment toward these 3H principles and producing quality and safe products has been  validated by the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) award received by PT. Nippon Indosari Corpindo, Tbk in 2006 for its Sari Roti products.  The HACCP certificate is awarded as a recognition for food safety warranty.  Sari Roti also has a R&D unit to create products which meet consumers’ taste preference and demand.

Sari Roti as the leading bread producer in Indonesia for the last 15 years has won numerous awards, namely: 2009, 2010, 2011 Top Brand, and  Top Brand for Kids in 2009, 2010, 2011,  2010 Marketing Award, 2010 Original Brand,  and 2011 Business Record, and several other awards.

PT. Sorini Corporation Tbk

 

Company Profile

PT. Sorini Corporation Tbk (the Company) was established in 1983 in Surabaya and in 1992 was publicly listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The Company produces and supplies starch and starch derivatives products such as sorbitol, dextrose monohydrate, glucose syrup and maltodextrin to various consumer goods industries.

In 1985 the Company commenced building its plant in Kecamatan Gempol Pasuruan in East Java and started its commercial operation in 1987. Over the years, The Company had added and increased the production capacity of Sorbitol and diversified into production of other starch derivatives products. This has led Sorini to be the biggest sorbitol and starch derivatives producer in Asia Pacific.

To serve strategic Japanese market, in 1994 the Company took a strategic step by establishing PT. Sorini Towa Berlian Corporation (“STBC”) located in East Java, a joint venture with Towa Chemical Industry Co. Ltd. Japan and Mitsubishi Corporation Japan to produce sorbitol liquid and powder. Through this venture, Sorini became the first Company to produce Sorbitol Powder in Indonesia.

To improve its competitiveness, in 1993 the Company established PT Saritanam Pratama located in Ponorogo, East Java, to produce tapioca starch, the raw material for both Sorini and STBC with capacity of 100 tons per day of starch. This capacity was doubled in 1998. The Company products are used in the manufacturing of Polyol & sweeteners, paper, MSG, food, and other industrial products.

Our long term strategy and recent focus has been on growth in Agro-based business and therefore in 2007 we renamed ourselves from PT Sorini Corporation Tbk to PT Sorini Agro Asia Corporindo Tbk. This shows our intention to position our company as Agri- Resources Company with manufacturing integration. Green colour in our identity shows the emphasis on environment friendly operations.

The history of PT. Sekar Laut, Tbk. began from a marine products trading in the city of Sidoarjo, East Java in 1966. The business then developed to a traditional shrimp cracker production. With hard work and perseverance, the business grew rapidly from a home industry to a well established company.

PT. Sekar Laut, Tbk. established in July 19, 1976 in the form of Limited Liability Company and then legally enlisted as legal corporate body in the justice department on March 1, 1978.
